Workshop, Skulpturenpark Berlin_Zentrum, November 12-18, 2007

CROSSKICK ACADEMY was a temporary space to discuss and perform appropriate forms of education and knowledge, as well as artistic and theoretical working models. CROSSKICK was a project initiated by the Working Group of German Arts Societies (ADKV) with the aim of presenting current approaches by young artists and linking them with new directions in visual arts training in both eastern and western Europe.

As the project CROSSKICK came to an end, the ADKV invited 30 representatives from each of the host academies to a week-long workshop in Berlin. The Workshop took place from November 12th to 18th 2007 under the direction of Annette Maechtel (Berlin) und Stefan Schneider (Düsseldorf) at the  artists' initiative KUNSTrePUBLIK e.V. with a space in Berlin-Mitte facing the Skulpturenpark Berlin_Zentrum, a former death-strip of the Berlin Wall. In the evenings, the programme continued at various institutions with public lectures and talks related to the workshop.
