PICTURE BERLIN @ Skulpturenpark Berlin_Zentrum

opening: exhibition “Before. Berlin”, July 2, 7:30 PM

PICTURE BERLIN, started in 2010, is a hybrid residency/art academy encouraging an active discourse in issues surrounding contemporary photography.
The dynamic programming involving lectures, workshops, studio visits, and film screenings, uses Berlin as a springboard to examine the concentrated art scene in the city. Over the course of the Summer Session, artists attend discussions led by PICTURE BERLIN lecturers, who are working artists in Berlin and each week ends with a 'Saturday Crit', a group critique with an invited selection of artists and art professionals. Summer Session 2011 begins with an exhibition at Skulpturenpark Berlin_Zentrum and will also culminate in a curated exhibition of work produced over the month. Summer Session 2011 is dedicated to the theme of Subculture.

“Before. Berlin”

Dannielle Bowman, Louise Conboy, Dylan Culhane, Tanya Gayer, Sophie Hoyle, Daniel Orlando Lara, Dian McLeod, Matthew Morrocco, Ilaria Ortensi, Louise Parker, Laurie Polson, Parker Tilghman, Lydia White, Nancy Woods, Daniel Orlando Lara

In addition to the exhibition, TacosBerlin, a roving Taco Truck, will be set up serving Mexican style tacos and burritos.
